Walgreens won the Friendliest People of this year's Senior Choice Awards

For the sixth year in a row, the Montrose-Delta BeaconFest Boomer & Senior Fair was a hit.

Thanks to the 50+ local businesses who set up booths, and most importantly—you, our guests. BeaconFest was a day of good fun and practical information geared toward boomers and seniors in our community.

This year’s Montrose-Delta BeaconFest was bigger than ever before. More than 1,200 people walked through the doors of the Montrose Pavilion, excited to immerse themselves in a day full of events and resources.

Starvin’ Arvin’s and Rib City Grill provided guests with delicious food. Beth Williams, The Band Wanted, Danny Agajanian & The Hallelujah Band, Paula Dunfee and Ron Koss hit the stage and lit up the event with great music.

Educational seminars covered government benefits, alternative health treatments and Medicare.

Attendees learned about senior living options, health services, reverse mortgages, and more in an environment crafted especially for seniors, boomers and their families. Thanks to the friendly staff at Walgreens, hundreds of attendees got vaccinated with a flu shot as well.

As if the seminars, live entertainment and vendor booths weren’t enough, guests were thrilled about the chance to win door prizes every half-hour.

Grand Junction Pipe & Supply donated a Rain Bird® sprinkler timer and controller, Century Casino gave a hotel stay and dinner for two, and various restaurants donated gift cards for local cuisine.

We want to thank all of the many vendors and local businesses that donated the wonderful gifts that made these drawings so exciting.

As is true every year, this year’s Montrose-Delta BeaconFest wouldn’t have been the same without the hard work and friendliness of the vendors who set up booths. Each booth painted a picture of its own unique offerings to create a fair of local businesses that value being a part of our community.
