STRiVE: person-centered practices guide services, support

Feb 28, 2018 07:28PM ● By Guest

STRiVE was founded on Valentine’s Day 1966. CEO Sharon Jacksi believes it’s a symbol of the many reasons the organization has such a big heart and has developed a culture of person centeredness.

STRiVE is a private, nonprofit agency serving individuals with developmental challenges and their families.

We support people who strive to meet their full potential. Whatever they need, STRiVE will help them find the best program or service within our system or others in the community. STRiVE supports individuals from birth to end of life in a variety of settings, serving 507 children and 900 adults, and operating 24/7 from 21 sites in the community. Over 350 staff members help the individuals in our programs.

We support children and families through developmental screening and therapeutic early intervention for infants and toddlers, support services for families who are caregivers for a child with disability and a multi-disciplinary diagnostic clinic for autism.

For adults, we offer group home and host home residential placements, supported living services for individuals living with family, daily living skills programs, and vocational and supported employment.

STRiVE also operates Uniquely Yours, a retail shop in downtown Grand Junction and the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens at 641 Struthers Ave.
