Loss of sight is one of the most difficult challenges a person can face—it can close off the world to an individual in a variety of ways.
The Blind Endeavors Foundation’s mission is to challenge and inspire people of all abilities to explore new ways of living through movement. Our home base is in Montrose, but our outreach is worldwide. We serve blinded veterans, and youth and adults with visual impairments by promoting awareness and education in schools and institutions across America, conducting research and building unique athletic programs to help people pursue bold endeavors around the world.
“Blindness is a life-long challenge. Stare into the darkness and you’ll never find your way. Explore through the darkness and you’re bound to stumble upon a great adventure,” President and Founder Steve Baskis said.
Your legacy gift will:
- Promote awareness and education, inspiring students and the public to approach life from a different perspective to shape future systems and technology.
- Allow exploration. From kayaking on the Ridgway Reservoir, backcountry skiing in the San Juans, camping in the backyard or cycling through the western slope, our programs are tailored from the novice to the expert.
- Provide scholarships/grants. Grants are given to those with sight loss so they can attend specialized recreational programs that we may not provide.
