Permanent book funds supply books for generations

The Libraries of Montrose County Foundation was established in 2008 to provide an ongoing source of funds to supplement the books and other materials at Montrose County Libraries. The foundation supports public libraries in Montrose, Naturita, Nucla and Paradox as well as the Montrose Regional Library District Bookmobile. The foundation raises money for libraries primarily through permanent book funds, which are housed at the Montrose Community Foundation.

What better way to honor a family member or friend, commemorate a special occasion and support libraries? For years to come, your generous gift will be used and appreciated by readers at the library.

With a gift of $2,500 or more (which can be pledged over five years, at just $42 per month), you can establish a permanent book fund, essentially creating your own endowment for the library. Your gift will be invested in perpetuity through an agency fund at the Montrose Community Foundation, and its income will be used to purchase books annually.

You can name your book fund, which will be added to a plaque in the library and printed on bookplates to be placed in each book that is purchased. At an average purchase price of $20 per book, your fund will add at least six new books to the library’s shelves each year, and a list of these books will be sent annually to the donor or your designee.
