BeaconFest 2018: a big BEACON thank you!

More than 2,500 people walked through the doors of Two Rivers Convention Center, excited to immerse themselves in a day full of events and resources.
Buffalo Wild Wings, Rib City Grill, Starvin’ Arvin’s and Costa Vida provided guests with delicious food throughout the day.
Young Morgan Crouse welcomed attendees to the show, captivating them with her guitar and powerful vocals. Danny Agajanian & The Hallelujah Band, Swing City Combo, King ‘n’ Trio, Javier de los Santos and Ron Koss also hit the stage with great music. Canyon Grand kicked off entertainment in the foyer with their sweet barbershop harmonies. Fiddle Power’s 8-year-old fiddle player Clementine and her father, Tyson, had the audience clapping and singing, and Peggy Malone delighted crowds with her interactive performance. The audience also welcomed harpist Robin Freed, who lit up the foyer with her enchanting melodies.
Each seminar room hosted a spread of educational presentations that covered Medicare, identity theft, estate planning, medical treatment and technologies, reverse mortgages, senior housing options and more in an environment crafted especially for seniors, boomers and their families.
People hung around in anticipation of playing a part in the murder mystery whodunit hosted by Mesa Murder Mysteries. Some participants helped solve the crime by interrogating suspects, while others relished the comedy and drama of the interactive experience.
As if the seminars, live entertainment and vendor booths weren’t enough, guests were thrilled by the chance to win door prizes every 30 minutes.
Our grand prize was a trip for two, including airfare and a three-night stay, at Wendover Casinos. We also gave away several other casino and hotel stays, a vacation package to Glenwood Springs, restaurant gift cards, several rounds of golf, free oil changes, art and furniture items from La-Z-Boy and Bassett Furniture, bowling and movie passes, and more!
We want to thank all of the vendors who donated the wonderful gifts that made these drawings so exciting.
As is true every year, BeaconFest 2018 wouldn’t have been the same without the friendly support of the 80+ vendors who set up booths.
Each booth painted a picture of its own unique offerings to create a fair of local businesses that value being a part of our community. Thanks to all who attended!
