Celebrate the grand opening of the new Surface Creek Animal Shelter building at 265 SE High Country Ave., Cedaredge on June 23. The shelter now has the capacity for up to 10 dogs and 30 cats with a separate room to isolate sick animals, and an office area. Festivities begin at 9:30 a.m. with a dog walk along the Surface Creek trail. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. For more information, call 856-2346.
