Happy New Year from the BEACON! To help you start the year off right, Mesa County readers will receive a copy of the 2022 BEACON Guide, our annual publication designed to help you age well, inside this January issue. (We’re currently working on our Montrose & Delta edition of the guide, so readers in those counties can look for theirs next month!)

The BEACON Guide—a trusted resource directory for area seniors, their families and those who assist them—includes hundreds of local, state and national resources and hard-to-find phone numbers. The guide also features informative articles to help you with the transitions that you or a loved one may be going through.

From finding leisure activities to planning your retirement, from home health care to moving to an assisted living facility, The BEACON Guide will help you navigate the continuum of care. The guide also includes listings for clubs, genealogy resources, veterinarians and pet shelters, support groups, volunteer opportunities and more.

As our community grows, so does the guide. Many listings are added each year. We’ve taken great care to make sure that every listing is accurate and up to date. Every listed phone number is called and personally verified year after year.

Though geared towards seniors, many households keep The BEACON Guide on hand throughout the year.

 Monthly highlights

Most months, the BEACON highlights a local club or organization listed in The BEACON Guide. It’s a great way for readers to become more familiar with organizations in the community. (Check out the story about local women shootists with the local A Girl and A Gun chapter on page 36).
