Celebrate age at Grand Junction BeaconFest!
Feb 28, 2022 02:40PM ● By Cloie SandlinLocal nonprofits rely on volunteers to help carry out their missions—especially during the pandemic. Over the last couple years, many volunteers have willingly and graciously donated more of their time to take on additional responsibilities in support of the causes they care about.
And what age group makes up the majority of our community’s volunteers? Seniors!
The BEACON’s Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes some of these exceptional volunteers and honors them at Grand Junction BeaconFest on Thursday, April 28.
Thirteen volunteers were nominated by local organizations. While all of them will be honored at BeaconFest, there can only be one Volunteer of the Year. With so many wonderful volunteers to choose from we’re asking for your help!
1. Read up on each nominated volunteer here.
2. Select your choice for this year’s Mesa County winner (we’ll be taking nominations for Montrose and Delta volunteers in July).
3. Vote here. The last day to vote is Friday, April 22.
