Richard E. Fike, founder and executive director of the Museum of the Mountain West, has been named True West Magazine’s “Best Western History Collector” for 2025. The recognition was announced in the magazine’s January “Best of the West 2025” special collector’s edition, available on national newsstands. In a statement, Fike said the award supports his longtime goal of educating the public through “true historical stories and artifacts of the Western U.S.” The museum is located at 68169 Miami Road in Montrose.
