Fruita clinic offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy for inflammation and recovery

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy may sound high-tech, but the experience at Nature’s Healers in Fruita is surprisingly simple. Clients spend about an hour inside a pressurized chamber, breathing 100% oxygen in a restful setting designed to support the body’s natural healing process.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBOT, is one of several wellness therapies offered at Nature’s Healers, located at 873 E. Highway 6 & 50. By increasing oxygen levels in the blood, HBOT may help support the body’s response to slow-healing wounds, inflammation, joint pain, circulation concerns and recovery after surgery.

“A lot of people tell us, ‘I just don’t bounce back like I used to,’” said Dr. Katherine Zybach, a Fruita native who co-founded Nature’s Healers with her veteran husband, Kevin. “We’re here to support the body so it can do what it’s naturally meant to do—heal.”

At Nature’s Healers, clients sit inside a hard-sided hyperbaric chamber while the pressure gradually increases. They wear an oxygen mask and breathe 100% oxygen for 60 to 90 minutes, often listening to music or simply relaxing.

Sharon, a Nature’s Healers client, said she began HBOT treatments over 2 years ago after more than a decade of fighting chronic illness.

“I started HBOT treatment and finally began to see remarkable results with decreased inflammation and some additional improvements to my skin and joint health,” she said. “I’m on the road to much improved health.”

For clients who are uncertain, the Zybachs and their team explain what to expect before the session begins and stays focused on comfort throughout the process.

“We wanted to create a space where people feel safe the moment they walk in,” Zybach said.

She grew up in Fruita, while Kevin’s military, medical flight and fitness experience contribute to the center’s structured, safety-minded approach.

“These are our neighbors,” she said. “We want people to feel comfortable and safe coming in, even if they’re just curious. Our goal is to make that first step feel easy.”

HBOT was originally used to treat decompression sickness. Today, it is used in medical settings for certain approved conditions and is also sought by some people for wellness, recovery and athletic performance. One 60-minute hyperbaric oxygen therapy session starts at $150.

Nature’s Healers also offers vitamin C, glutathione, ozone, ultraviolet blood irradiation and Myers cocktail infusions, giving clients several wellness options beyond HBOT.
