Spellbinders® Trained Storytellers share the rich oral tradition of tales that teach and enchant. Spellbinders® volunteer Storytellers usually tell (rather than read) stories once a month to students in grades K-5. Working with teachers, storytellers enhance literacy, stimulate imagination, and broaden multicultural understanding. Telling stories to children is truly an awesome experience! (It's even more fun if you take training with a friend.)
Sign up for September Spellbinder Training begins on Monday, July 20 and is open until the class is full. Attending 12 hours of training is a prerequisite to becoming a certified Spellbinders® storyteller. You will receive tips on how to find, learn, and tell stories and will hear stories from active Spellbinders. Practicing telling stories and receiving constructive feedback will hone your skills. Following the classroom training, you will observe an experienced teller in a classroom, share a story, and receive feedback from that teller. Check out Spellbinders.org Fee is $50 and scholarships are available if needed.
September Training (9 AM-1 PM) - includes one workshop September 1, 3, 8, 10, 17
