Exploring Range Creek Canyon: People, Archaeology and Experiments
The Colorado Archaeological Society welcomes you to attend our next meeting with Dr. Shannon Boomgarden. Her research focuses on using actualist experiments to study prehistoric subsistence practices, including food storage techniques and maize farming in arid environments. Dr. Boomgarden is the Director of the Range Creek Canyon Field Station. Range Creek is one of the best-preserved examples of Fremont Culture with granaries and rock art. With a permit, Range Creek Canyon is open to the public.
