Independence Day Celebration

The City of Montrose invites you to spend your holiday celebrating Independence Day the right way as we celebrate the 250/150 anniversary of the United States of America and Colorado. The theme for our celebration and parade this year will be Our Heritage, happening on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Our Heritage was chosen as the theme to honor the many stories, traditions, and backgrounds that make our community unique. Heritage means something different to everyone. It may be cultural roots, family traditions, or a shared love for where we live. This theme invites each of us to reflect on where we come from and to celebrate our shared connections.

Free Concert

The City of Montrose is partnering with the Montrose Summer Music Series again this year to bring the Montrose community together for a free concert. This concert will be held during the afternoon and evening of July 4th at the Montrose Rotary Amphitheater.

The City of Montrose will be offering kids' activities like face painting (provided by the Montrose High School Cheerleaders and Christina Pope), balloon twisters (provided by Twisted Critters N More), a bouncy house (from Bounce & Slide Inflatables), fun games (provided by Montrose Children's Museum), and so much more for our Community to enjoy.

The City of Montrose will also be passing out swag items, including little American flags, 4th of July stickers, patriotic fans, bandanas, and glowsticks for the evening.
