Volunteers are a driving force for our historic museums in Mesa County. Interested volunteers with the Museums of Western Colorado are encouraged to attend a free volunteer introductory class at 11 a.m. on March 10 at Museum of the West, 462 Ute Ave. Meet the museums’ volunteer coordinator, Carly Jones, who will provide the foundation and needs of each of the three museum sites, and learn about available volunteer positions from site curators. Orientation and training is required for all volunteers. Those who are interested further will participate in five in-depth 90-minute training classes from March 10-30, with several meeting times available. Potential volunteers need to be present at each class for a specific site. For more information or to reserve your seat, call 242-0971 or email [email protected].
