Ken Sherbenou, Montrose Recreation District Executive Director, has accepted the position of Parks and Recreation Director with the City of Grand Junction. Ken has been director since 2010 and the MRD is grateful for his service. His biggest accomplishment as executive director was putting together the amazing team that enabled the construction of the Montrose Community Recreation Center and the Montrose Field House, both of which opened in 2017. While the Recreation District Board of Directors is sad to announce Ken’s departure, we wish him well in Grand Junction. It is our hope that he can be as successful at improving the quality of life for their residents as he has been here in Montrose.
