Grand Junction's Foundation for Cultural Exchange (FCE) has won two national awards for innovative programs. Sister Cities International Annual Awards recognize excellence in overall programming and highlight key innovations in arts and culture, business and trade, humanitarian assistance, youth and education and professional and technical exchange categories. The FCE hosts annual delegations to Salvador to learn about its culture, history, and current affairs, maintains a scholarship program for Salvadoran students, raises money for development projects in the sister city and recently began a spay and neuter campaign.
