Valley Symphony Association announces exciting 53rd season lineup

Valley Symphony Association (VSA) is thrilled to unveil its lineup for its 53rd season, titled “Play!” With a mission to serve Colorado’s Western Slope through connective live music experiences, the VSA, an all-volunteer orchestra and chorus, promises a season filled with memorable concerts that reflect their tagline: “Music you love. Musicians you know.”

“My vision for this season is really to highlight the joy that we have in ‘playing’ in the orchestra and chorus,” Artistic Director and Orchestra Conductor Troy Raper shared. “The theme is all about having fun and presenting a program of recognizable works that appeal to everyone.”

Celebrate! Sounds of Summer (September 7, 8, 14 & 15)

The season kicks off with this joyous celebration of summer in America featuring uplifting, toe-tapping tunes. These free concerts highlight the VSA’s regional impact on the Western Slope and their commitment to giving back to the community. This year, the VSA expands its September concerts from one to four, offering free performances in Cedaredge, Montrose and Ridgway. 

Laugh! Saturday Morning Soundtracks (October 26 & 27)

A delightful concert at the Montrose Pavilion featuring carefree fun for all ages, with music ranging from classic cartoon themes to video game soundtracks, performed by the orchestra.

Snow! A Winter Wonderland (December 7 & 8) 

Join the orchestra and chorus for a festive flurry of carols and holiday cheer. A new 1 p.m. family matinee on December 7 has been added to make it convenient for families and kids to experience the holiday magic.

Sing! Epics and Idols (February 22 & 23)

The orchestra and chorus will present beloved masterworks in monumental proportions.

Connect! Past, Present and Future (March 29 & 30)

The orchestra reunites with the Valley Youth Orchestra onwstage for the first time since 2018. This concert will seamlessly blend the instruments of new and seasoned musicians in a harmonious spring celebration.

Water! Find the River (April 26 & 27)

The chorus will explore the impact of water on our hearts, minds and spirits in this reflective performance and season 53 finale.

This year, the VSA has introduced new pricing options to make their performances more accessible to families and all ages. The season pass offers a “Buy Four, Get One Free” deal, with prices set at $80 for adults, $20 for students and a family package at $200 (covering two adults and two students). Single concert tickets are just $20 for adults and $5 for students.
